I know it's been over a year

Good evening, world.

Does it ever feel awkward when you run into someone you haven't seen for a long time and they ask you how you're doing and you have a hard time coming up with something interesting to say? It's been years since you've seen this person and the only thing going on in your life is work, family, what else?

This has happened to me. I wish I could respond, "Oh, I'm training for a marathon, I've lost 25 pounds, I just got a fabulous promotion, I'm dating this wonderful guy and we're talking about marriage."

But no...

I have my job, my apartment, my cat, my sister, my occasional glass of wine.

I realize that in order to have exciting updates in your life, you have to make those things happen. I hold myself accountable for lack of groundbreaking news in my life.

I should post a blog once a day to write about something exciting that happened to me.

hmmm....where do I start?

Okay, well I got a part-time job at Home Depot and I started my orientation today. That's one.

Last week I started chatting with a fellow (a friend of a friend). There was mild flirting and we watched a movie a few days ago. I wanted him to kiss me, but I was terribly nervous. I like this feeling. I haven't been nervous in a long time. Today, I received a text message from him and I found myself involuntarily smiling...that's a good sign...I think.

That's two new things....so what's going on in my life? New job, new crush....w00-hoo! What's next?
